Director of Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

• Recruit and lead a dynamic team of engineers specializing in areas such as backend development and SRE/DevOps, fostering an agile, continuous delivery, and cloud-native culture through coaching, training, and professional growth opportunities.
• Work closely with Engineering and Product leadership, including the SVP of Engineering and CTO, to create long-term strategic plans for the Engineering department, covering resource capacity planning and talent management.
• Manage and lead software development teams and senior/principal engineers, focusing on career development, mentoring, and performance evaluation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• Over 8 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, particularly with big data or complex analytical products.
• Minimum of 2 years in a managerial role overseeing engineering teams.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala.
• Experience in designing and optimizing technical architectures.
• Proven track record in building and scaling:
• Big data ingestion platforms and cloud infrastructures, or
• High-performance application platform services and backend software.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
• Background in the healthcare technology or digital health sectors.
• Aptitude for identifying complex issues and developing effective solutions.
